Ministry placements and God’s calling on your life

Ministry placements and God’s calling on your life

As we begin this journey together, you might have started to think about where you would like to serve in your Primary and Camp ministry placements. Let’s consider the following as you prepare for this.

Read Ephesians 2:8-10.

DISCUSS

It means that we are not saved by works, but we are saved for works that God has prepared in advance for us to do.

Watch: God’s Plan For You (YOUR PURPOSE)

DISCUSS

What is your understanding of the same purpose, different gifts, and different mission?

We all have different gifts and a different mission because we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God and He has a unique plan for each of us.

Read Psalm 139:13-14.

Watch: You are fearfully and wonderfully made

We are God’s masterpiece with unique gifts and unique purposes.

As you consider this, let’s reflect on 1 Corinthians 12: 12-31; 1 Peter 4: 1-11; Ephesians 4: 1-13; Romans 12: 1-8 Look up this passage in your Study Bible.

DISCUSS
  • What does this passage say about God’s plan for the Christian life?
  • What gifts has God given to you to share with others and build up the church?

To assist you in answering these questions consider what other people say that you are good at, what you are passionate about, what upsets you about the world that makes you want to change it if you had the resources or what legacy you want to leave on the world?

Based on this, write down what your initial thoughts are for your Primary and CAMP ministry placement and how you can see your God-given gifts being used to build the Church?

Ministry Placements

The practical ministry placements provide the opportunity to put your giftings and skills into action. As part of your Certificate III in Christian Ministry and Theology, you will have an opportunity to complete both a Primary Ministry Placement (40 Hours) and Camp Ministry Placement (16 Hours). It’s important to keep in mind that this is not just about working and doing things out of a sense of obligation.  This is a genuine opportunity to try new things, make some mistakes, learn, and grow, discover your gifts and talents, and even test your sense of calling and vocation. Many students have discovered life-long passions and callings through their practical ministry experiences.

It is your task over the next 2 weeks to decide on your Primary & Camp Ministry Placement. You will need to complete the Planning Your Primary Ministry Placement Quiz and Planning Your Camp Ministry Placement Quiz in your own time, which will assist you with getting this started.

You will need to ask someone to be your Ministry Placement Supervisor and you will need to get a copy of their Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) number from this person. The Ministry Placement supervisor is responsible for doing an induction with you, assisting, and overseeing you in your weekly ministry task, and completing a review at the end of each term to evaluate your competency.

Primary Ministry Placement (minimum 40 hours)

CAMP Ministry Placement (minimum 16 hours)
