When and Where to Share the Gospel?

When and Where to Share the Gospel?

MAIN POINT

You can share the gospel right now, wherever you are, and wherever you go. (ROMANS 10:9-15; 2 TIMOTHY 4:2)

INTRODUCTION

Discuss the following:

  • On a scale of 1-10 (1 = low and 10 = high) how would you rate your readiness to share the gospel? Your awareness of opportunities? Explain your thoughts.
  Low  12345678910High
  • When and where are you around people who need the gospel?
  • What are some ways you see other people trying to fill the Jesus-sized hole in their lives? How have you tried to fill that hole in your life?

In Mark 16:15, Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel.” That means you should go to your family and preach the gospel. Go into your workplace and preach the gospel. Go into your neighborhood and preach the gospel. Go into your world and preach the gospel. Make no mistake about what Jesus said, it’s a command. God has put more people in your life and in more places than you likely ever realized. This is no coincidence.

UNDERSTANDING

Watch Session 2: When and Where to Share the Gospel? Greg Laurie at Lifeway Small Group (30 minutes) or Harvest Online Course

Answer the following questions in the quiz.

Read Romans 10:9-15.

  • Why is it not enough to only be a good moral example to non-believers?

DISCUSS

  • Is there someone in your life who you don’t want to share with, or someone who you think would never repent and believe? Why is that? What is the better response?
  • Greg asked if we have considered that God has us where we are for a reason. How does this change your perspective on life? On evangelism?

Read 2 Timothy 4:2.

DISCUSS

  • If God doesn’t usually speak audibly, how have you experienced Him providing opportunities to share the gospel?
  • How can you be more intentional about interacting with people in your daily routines?
  • Think through your regular schedule each week.
  • Where do you go that you look forward to each week or during the year? Why do you look forward to this place? Where do you go that you dread? Why do you dislike this place?
  • How does it change the way you see the world around you knowing that God is at work?
  • In what ways can you be a steppingstone to help someone else move closer to Jesus?
