Group Presentation Introduction

Group Presentation Introduction

As part of Certificate III in Christian Ministry & Theology, you are required to develop and deliver a presentation that is creative and engaging to their Discipleship Group. This quiz and the presentation itself need to demonstrate that you have critically thought about your topic from different points of view resulting in a deeper and theologically sound understanding of this topic.

This presentation is on a Biblical issue, theme, or question. It is expected that you will spend a minimum of 8 hours researching and developing the presentation. The presentation itself needs to go for at least 10 minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes so that 2 group presentations can be completed in 1 period of class time. You will be given some time during class to work on this, but it is expected that most of the time is completed at home. It is a good idea to use the Presentation Review form to guide the development of your presentation and as a final self-reflection before finalising the presentation to ensure that each point has been covered.

Remember that competency is either you did or did not achieve this in your Group Presentation. It does not result in a mark or percentage outcome to indicate the level to which this competency was achieved. If you did not get marked as ‘Yes’ for every point, it is part of the reflection process to ask questions on how to improve in this area so in the next presentation you address this to get marked ‘Yes’. IMPORTANT: For the Group Presentation in Term 3, you must achieve ‘Yes’ for every point so it is important that you ask for feedback in order to improve each time.

A key aspect of Group Presentation Development is that you identify and research your topic using all of these sources:

  • The Bible
  • Books, websites, articles, etc. (Opposing views)
  • Other people. (CMT student statements, Interviews with qualified person, your own churches perspective)
